Best Golf Cart Heater: Electric or Propane Heater for Golf Carts
What is the best choice for your golf cart?
QUICK NOTE: IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU HAVE EZ GO GOLF CART, CLUB CAR GOLF CART, YAMAHA OR ANY OTHER TYPE. I repeat, when it comes to these golf cart heaters & other heating reviews, it won’t make a difference what brand of golf cart you are driving.

The reason it doesn’t matter is because these heaters are designed to be universal, meaning they will fit just about any golf cart with a floor or cup holder.
What does matter on the other hand is if you have(or drive) an electric golf cart or gas golf cart.
Why does this matter?
If you have a gas powered golf cart, or are using your golf courses and they have gas. Most likely, the cart won’t have the required plug in for you to bring your electric heater.
There are still ways around it! We’ll get to that later. For now, and to think in terms of simplicity; if you have/drive a gas powered golf cart, your first and foremost best option would be a golf heater with propane.
Not only due to the plug in availability, but the gas powered golf carts usually don’t require but one or two batteries to power the cart. Even if you are able to plug it in, you may drain the battery. Unless you use a solar panel for golf carts (or mini other solar panels, as long as they have enough output) to recharge everything, you can find them for a decent price on amazon. It could be beneficial with either cart, and possibly for other things such as charging your phone, adding battery life to an electric golf cart, or charging golf gps units.
An electric heater would better suit an electric golf cart. Although a propane heater will also work just fine. Most electric golf carts have enough battery power to power the heaters, as well as the golf cart for the entire round and be fine.
The other reason to choose an electric heater WITH an electric golf cart would solely be because of the noise. An electric golf cart is quiet, much quieter than a propane heater.
Propane is easier to use in general in most cases, but depending on your cart: the next rule of thumb I’d say is Electric for Electric Golf Carts, Propane Golf Heaters for Gas Golf Carts.
BUT Propane Heaters have been around longer, and generally are pretty reliable. There are definitely some electric that are reliable, but in general, electric golf cart heaters are newer opposed to propane heaters overall.
This is just for informational purposes of what should fit best for the golf cart being driven with a golf heater. Although if you are in love with an electric or propane golf cart heater, there are ways to make either or work for either golf cart type.
Let’s move into which the golf cart heater reviews section and see which of these heaters are the best fit for you and your cart.

Propane Heater for Golf Carts
#1. Mr. Heater Golf Cart Heater
#1 in Quality

OUR REVIEW:
This heater was literally designed for a universal heater on golf carts. Mr. Heater is one of the great heating companies out there. They work much in commercial heating all the way down to the smaller propane heater options.
You can count on this option each and every time you fire it up in the cold as it is the best golf cart heater on the market today.
Some of the things that stand out with this heating options is that when you buy it on Amazon, it comes with the golf cart heater cup holder included. So you know that it is a perfect fit for the heater.
More importantly, you can get the option to include a propane refill adapter for the propane tank as well. By refilling the current, smaller propane tank with a larger propane tank (think like BBQ propane tank type), you can really save money!
PROS:
- Universal Heater Cup Holder Included
- Option for including propane refill adapter
- 4,000 BTU output is higher than most competitors, meaning more heat!!
- Fits 14.1 oz tall slim propane for cup holders
CONS:
- Designed for a golf cart, may not be ideal for use outside of the golf cart.
- Most heaters don’t include it, but I am putting it here anyways because I feel they could! PROPANE TANK! Propane sold separately.

#2. Texsport Portable Propane Heater
#1 for Portable & Golf Cart Combination Heaters

OUR REVIEW:
Texsport is a little bit of a lesser know brand name when it comes heating options/golf cart heaters. But what they lack for in marketing, they make up for in quality.
A few key points that this heater would make for a perfect fit for you and your golf cart might be that it is designed to hold a slightly larger propane tank than the Mr. Heater golf heaters. Meaning that it could last a little bit longer before needing to be recharged (propane tank).
Also, the market they are going after with this heater is not solely for golf. As you can probably tell a little bit in the picture, this one is designed to be portable AND/OR put into a cup holder. Comes with both options.
Lastly, the price is just right. For less than the cost of a the Mr. Heater, you can still stay warm and toasty on the golf course! Or anywhere else, because it comes with the portable heating adapted to put on the ground!
PROS:
- Low Cost
- Comes with Portable adapter AND Golf Cart cup holder.
- Can fit 16 oz or 14 oz Propane tanks.
- Square or Sunflower options (Square for golf carts w/ holder, sunflower is a portable that would work!).
CONS:
- 3,000 BTU’s is not as hot of heat coming out as the Mr. Heater options.
- No Propane included.

PORTABLE PROPANE OPTION
#3. Mr. Heater Portable Little Buddy Propane Heater

OUR REVIEW:
If it sounds familiar, that is probably because the name was just listed in the number one spot. They make the list again for good reason. When it comes to any type of heaters, it does not matter if it is amazon golf cart heaters or one from the local hunting shack. What matters is they provide reliable results when it comes to propane golf heaters.
That is exactly what this company does, and will make your dollar go further than some of the other heating options available on the market.
While this “lil buddy” heater from Mr. Heater isn’t exactly the Golf Cart only type. It does however have many of the same qualities that we are looking for in a good heater option for the price we are going to be spending to stay warm.
This little heater puts out some not so little heat on the course. 3,800 BTUS means it is hotter than the #2 option and almost as hot as the #1!
DISCLAIMER: It does state that these are not meant for golf carts or motorize vehicles. But it is definitely still a good option when you consider the small heating option that you can turn upwards to heat the whole golf cabin if you have the enclosure!
PROS:
- Great mini heater
- Portable heating option
- Cost vs Quality is a good buy
CONS:
- Not designed for golf carts and does state not intended for golf cart use! Please ensure this is a safe fit for your cart before on the course.
- No cup holder adapter available.
- No propane included.

Top 3: Electric Heater for Golf Cart
- TSI Climate Caddy – Electric Golf Cart Heater and Fan
- MASO 12V Climate Control Defroster & Heater
- FERRYONE Portable Space Heater
Before we dive into the electric heater options for your golf cart, understand what will be needed to plug your heater in.
There are ways to go about getting the juice out of your battery to power your other items such as a golf cart heater.
If your cart already has a 12v outlet (just like a car cigarette lighter) then you can just use that.
If you already have a normal outlet on your car, even better. Or a USB outlet option on your golf cart? That can work too.
IF YOU DO NOT currently have anywhere to plug in an electric heater on your golf cart. Here are some quick things you can use to make that happen:

This plugs right into your battery (more or less the black touches the black and red touches the red on one of your batteries) to create a beautiful 12V plug in option for ONLY $6.99!
There are some great products out there that can convert your batteries power that you are already recharging to drive the cart, and turn it into a power supply for your other items such as a heater, radio, phone charge, gps charger, etc!

#1. TSI Climate Caddy – Electric Golf Cart Heater and Fan

OUR REVIEW:
The TSI Climate caddy is a premium heating option. If you are looking for something a little more permanent that will be used more than a few times, this is the best option on the entire market today for an electric golf cart heater.
It has several advantages over a propane and fellow electric heaters as well. The first one is that an electric heaters in general, whether for golf carts or other heaters; are generally going to heat up much quicker than a propane heater. They can go from off to warm in just a few seconds, as opposed so a propane might take a little bit longer. Albeit, quick either way, electric is quicker.
As far as the TSI climate caddy option goes. It is superior to any of the other electric golf cart options today (there are not a ton of reputable options on the market in 2020!). They provide as much heat as a propane, but without the noise of a propane heater or having to refill propane tanks.

The final two key buying point to why you should use this heater opposed to any other heater for your golf cart is that for NO EXTRA cost, you can get the permanent mount for your golf cart. This would make it more durable, and you wouldn’t be required to put it in a cup holder anymore.
Lastly, TSI thought of the year round golf. Keep the heater plugged in year round and enjoy the fan in the summertime. On those super hot days when the cart you are waiting on the tee box, there is no wind, how nice would it be to have a fan right in front of you?!

You need to ensure that you would have enough to power this bad boy, it requires 48v. However, if you are not running it constantly or not on full heat all the time it shouldn’t run the battery nearly as quickly. If you have an enclosure, you could certainly keep the heat in for a little bit, these heaters turn off and on with the flip of a switch!
PROS:
- Electric is quieter than propane
- Cup holder adapter OR Permanent Mount for same cost
- Fan for when heat is not needed
- Quick and hot heat time
- No need to refill propane tanks
CONS:
- 48V is required to run the heater.
- Cost is higher. (Is definitely worth it for this golf cart heater, but is still higher than average)
#2. MASO 12V Climate Control Defroster & Heater
OUR REVIEW:
Maso is not what you would call a “household name”. They do however, boast some great reviews as well as something else pretty rare. They offer a one year guarantee if your heater doesn’t produce the 800W it is designed put out. That’s a good company backing their electric heaters.
This heater is actually designed to be universal. Meaning as long as you have a 12V plug in available, you can have some heat coming out. The fact that it doesn’t take up a cup holder spot, and could be place high or low makes it very unique to fitting in carts. You could put one for each passenger!
PROS:
- Quick heat time
- Low cost compared to a lot of other options
- Only needs 12V to run
- One year warranty/guarantee is a big plus
CONS:
- May not heat as quickly or as hot as other electric heaters available
#3. FERRYONE Portable Space Heater

OUR REVIEW:
While the third one on our list is an amazing electric heater in it’s own right. It makes the list for different reasons.
It is not equipped with a DC(12v) adapter, but is instead actually just a mini electric heater for anywhere! It doesn’t take much wattage to run, tip over protection if it tipped over it would not continue to heat/melt anything and provides top quality heat.
All for under thirty dollars. You would need an adapter , if there is no current AC plug in available. But it is very easy to pull off.
The design of this heater is a perfect fit for the floor of a golf cart!
PROS:
- Low cost vs quality
- Quick heatup
- Reliable heater
CONS:
- Not designed for golf carts, although it is perfectly safe to use.
- May need AC adapter to plug it in.
